| Casting Reels - Shimano - Citica 100DSV |
 | New to the Citica family is the 100DSV. For the first time in the history of the Citica legacy, Shimano has introduced a smaller 100 size Citica. The upgraded Citica 100DSV has Super Free technology, which uses a bearing supported pinion gear to eliminate drag on the spool shaft, and the greatly increased free spool for longer casts. Shimano's VBS Variable Brake System allows the angler to fine tune the casting brakes to help eliminate backlash while still achieving plenty of casting distance. One of the major advantages of the Citica 100DSV is the high spool capacity and compact size. This combination makes the Citica 100DSV an excellent choice for applications that require constant contact with the reel and long casts. Features High Efficiency Gearing (HEG) is not only the oversized gears, but also includes the setplate, which allow for a high speed retrieve while providing unbelievable fish-moving torque (200 sizes only). Variable Brake System (VBS) uses centrifugal force rather than magnets to aid in controlling the cast for increased distance and adjustability. Super Stopper is a one-way roller bearing that eliminates backplay for solid hooksets. Assist Stopper is a back-up anti-reverse system that reduces the stress placed on the one-way roller bearing to increase durability. Turn-Key Access Sideplate - flip up the easy to use turn-key and rotate it to remove the sideplate to adjust the VBS brake weights. Drilled Handle Shank reduces the weight of the reel. Dartainium Drag material provides a wide range of drag settings and the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever. Aluminum Frame for tight tolerances and unflexing durability. Recessed Reel Foot allows the reel to sit closer to the rod for comfort and maneuverability. Clicking Drag Adjustment reduces the chance of the drag backing off at light settings while providing the angler a reference point to how much drag they add or reduce by turning the star. Reduced Mass VBS hub reduces the weight of the spool, increasing freespool and reducing start up inertia.
